Standing up for St. Catharines

Jennie Stevens is working to strengthen Ontario by protecting public health care, defending the right to housing, and standing up for veterans and their families.

A lifelong resident of St. Catharines and longtime Merritton city councillor, Jennie brings deep local roots, frontline experience, and a proven record of getting things done. She spent over a decade at the municipal level building consensus, working across political lines, and delivering results for her community.

As a former frontline health care worker and dedicated seniors’ advocate, Jennie knows the importance of strong public services — especially when it comes to health care and housing. She has been a tireless advocate for affordable, attainable housing in St. Catharines, with a track record of protecting tenants and fighting for fair solutions.

In her role as the Ontario NDP’s Shadow Solicitor General, with responsibility for Veterans, Legions, and Military Affairs, Jennie is focused on ensuring community safety, supporting those who’ve served, and defending public institutions that people count on.

Jennie also serves on the board of the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre and continues to be a strong voice for inclusive, accessible communities across Niagara.
